Bernadotte Jean-Baptiste-Jules (1763 - 1844)

Marshal of France, he distinguished himself during the Revolution and the wars of the Empire, but he does not shine by his military genius, the Emperor removed him from his entourage. Bernadotte was approached by the Diet of Stockholm to succeed the kingdom of Sweden. Napoleon did not oppose it, believing he was getting an ally in the North, but at the head of his country, Bernadotte allied himself with the European coalition. He was married to Désiré Clary, Joseph's sister-in-law and Napoleon's ex-fiancée. It has been claimed that Bernadotte wore on his chest, tattooed these words:"Death to kings!" His descendants still reign over Sweden!
