Clotilde(475 - 545)

Daughter of King Burgundy, she married Clovis in 493 and played an important role in his conversion to Catholicism. On her death, she became regent of her three sons Clodomir, Childebert I and Clotaire I. She takes in Clodomir's sons when he dies. But her two other sons, Childebert and Clotaire, blackmail her:either they cut their hair (a mark of royal affiliation) or they are killed. Clotilde preferred to see them dead than shaved (they cannot reign shaved). One of Clodomir's sons managed to escape, becoming a monk he founded the monastery that bears his name:Saint-Cloud. She was canonized.
