Lefebvre François-Joseph (1755 - 1820)

At first loyal to King Louis XVI, he protected his family. Finally rallied to Napoleon, he played an important role on 18 Brumaire. Napoleon employed him above all in the rear of his army, where he made use of his experience with the infantry and his quality as a leader of men. It should be noted that Lefebvre is the husband of the famous “Madame sans gene” who irritates the Emperor so much. Lefebvre, however, did a good job at Jena and especially at Dantzig, and he galvanized the troops behind the Moskva during the retreat from Russia.
