History of Europe

Mathematicians are not of letters.

Although it seems obvious, we are going to explain it.

Johann Peter Gustav Lejeune Dirichlet , he was an eminent German mathematician of the 19th century who, although he wrote a book (perhaps he also had a “black”), made it very clear that numbers were his thing. His phobia of letters, telegrams and other writings was such that when the time came to inform his father-in-law that he had been a grandfather, he sent him the following note:

2 + 1 =3

The question that remains for me is whether the father-in-law found out about the news with this letter or if he needed any further clarification. Come on, this good man overflowed with passion and joy.
