Discover life in Roman cities with our Archaeological Agenda

InThe underworld of Rome , we tell you what life was like in different aspects of Roman society, but we suggest you learn more about what the day-to-day life of the Romans was like. For this reason, in our Archaeological Agenda this week we propose you to visit from a virtual exhibition prepared by expert archaeologists to Roman remains of all kinds in different parts of Spain. Are you excited?

  • Romanorum Vita (Valencia, from July 22 to September 9). This traveling exhibition includes different elements that will make you immerse yourself in the daily life of the Romans in the year 79 AD, in the middle of the imperial era:scenery, projections, sounds and even recreated smells, all prepared by experts, such as the archaeologist and professor Joaquín Ruiz de Arbulo, collaborator of Archeology and History and author of an article on sex and prostitution in Pompeii in our No. 2:The underworld of Rome.   • In Alcalá de Henares, the Roman city of Complutum, it is possible to visit the Monumental Complex of the Forum, where you will find remains of the market, the baths or the civil Basilica. You can also visit the House of Hippolytus, a leisure and training center for young people of the urban nobility that was located on the outskirts of the old Complutum. If you go to the city of Madrid, do not forget to see the Regional Archaeological Museum, admission is free!

  • Segóbriga boasts of being one of the best preserved Roman cities and it is that in this site located in Saelices (Cuenca) you can find archaeological remains that will allow you to imagine the municipality as it was at that time. It also has an interpretation center where you can learn more about the details of this site.
