Antonio Gallardo Ballart, president of the Palarq Foundation

In a country where matters like history , archeology and culture in general seem to be at the opposite end of the world of business and company, we interviewed a personality who undoubtedly unites both vocations. Antonio Gallardo Ballart (Barcelona, 1936) has not only developed a brilliant professional career in various presidencies of his family group, in which he has served as vice president of the Family Business Institute and member of the Council of the Family Business Network, in addition to being a corresponding academic of the Royal Academy of Medicine. He has also made very important contributions to the world of culture, such as the donation of twenty works from his private collection to the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC), the most important given to this institution in the last thirty years, and in what more directly concerns us, the constitution of the Palarq Foundation, which he himself chairs. We spoke with him so that he could explain to us the reason for the creation of this foundation dedicated to archeology and paleontology, what its objectives are and how it works.

Why did you decide to create an Archeology and Paleontology Foundation?

Can you explain how the Foundation works

The Palarq Foundation National Prize for Archeology and Paleontology, what does it consist of?

Do you think that entities such as the Palarq Foundation and initiatives such as the I National Prize for Archeology and Paleontology are necessary to give visibility to this research in Spanish society?

From his experience, what do you think is needed to bring these disciplines closer to the youngest?

Before thanking Mr. Antonio Gallardo Ballart for his kindness, we would like to ask you one last question. How do you see the future of Spanish archeology and paleontology?
