Chapter – 20 – Birth and Spread of Islam (b)

Principles of Islam

According to the Quran, every Muslim has five duties - Kalma, Namaz, Zakat, Ramzan and Hajj.

(1.) Kalma: Kalma is the Arabic language 'pen' Composed of the word, which means- word. The meaning of Kalma is- 'Sentence of Allah' That is, whatever has come in writing from Allah, is a kalma - 'La ilaha illlilah Muhammadurrasulillah.'

(2.) Namaz: The meaning of Namaz is to perform Khidmat or Bandgi. It is made up of two words – Nam and Aaj. 'Num' means to cool or erase and 'today' It means desires or evil desires. In this way, Namaz is called that prayer by which the evil desires of man are destroyed.

Namaz is offered five times a day – morning, afternoon, third watch, evening time and at night. Namaz can be offered in all circumstances like marriage, gami, travel, fight, unemployment etc. Namaz cannot be forgiven under any circumstances, but it is not obligatory on minor children and lunatics. On Friday, all the Muslims gather in the mosque and offer Namaz. Before Namaz 'Wuzu' Doing (washing hands, feet, mouth etc.) is mandatory.

(3.) Zakat: The literal meaning of zakat is to increase or increase, but its practical meaning is to give alms or charity. Since money increases by giving alms or charity, the money which is donated is called Zakat. Every Muslim should give one-fourth of his income in the way of God, that is, in charity.

(4.) Rosa: The ninth month of the moon 'Ramadan' It is derived from the Arabic word Ramaj. It means burning any part of the body. Since in this month the body is burnt by fasting or fasting, hence it is named Ramzan.

In fasting, one should not eat or drink after sunrise and before sunset. By fasting, there is Barkat (growth) and income increases. The month of Ramadan was chosen for fasting because the Quran was revealed in this month. It is not mandatory for the patient and the traveler to fast during the month of Ramadan. They can later fast for the same number of days.

(5.) Hajj: The literal meaning of Hajj is intention, but its practical meaning is to go to Mecca and perform rituals. It is the religious duty of every Muslim to visit Mecca at least once in his life and perform the rituals. 'Arafat' on the ninth day of Zilhaj (Bakrid month) It is also mandatory to be present in the field of (name of a place).

Allah

'Allah' of the Arabic word Allah It is derived from the word, which means – pak or holy, one who should be worshipped. No one should be worshiped except Allah. Islam is opposed to polytheism as well as idol-worship and nature-worship. He is also opposed to the doctrine of the Triad of God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) propounded by Christians.

He considers Jesus to be a prophet but not the son of God, because to add to the son-producing qualities in God is to bring him into the category of man. It is said repeatedly in the Quran- 'If you call God the progenitor, the sky will explode and the earth will turn upside down.' The Quran believes that Allah resides on Arsh (the sky) and his throne is also there. He is the formless, the lord of infinite power and the ocean of love and mercy. He forgives people.

Angel

'Malak' to the gods in Islam And to the angels 'angel' it is said. Angels are those holy spirits who establish closeness between Allah and man. The angel who had descended to Hazrat Muhammad with a message from Allah, his name was Jibril. Hazrat Muhammad looked at Jibril not with his skin but through his spiritual point of view.

Devil and Jinn

Satan is also of Malak-yoni like the gods, but the Quran forbids belief in Satan. According to the Qur'an, lowly desires pave the way for the downfall of man. 'Genie' They work to arouse lowly desires. 'Iblis' in the Quran There is mention of a jinn named who tries to mislead humans. So it should be avoided.

Earn

'doom' from the Arabic word Qayam Banai, which literally means to stand up and practical meaning is the disappearance of the world. According to the Qur'an, the birth of a man on earth is the first and last birth. At the end of this life, the human body is buried in the grave. Even then his soul remains alive in a different type of grave and this soul has to rise on the day of doom and go before Allah.

Doom is described in the Qur'an as follows- 'When doom comes, there will be no light in the moon, the sun and the moon will become one, and man will not understand where to go and leave God. There will be no refuge for him elsewhere. When the stars will be lost, the sky will be torn to pieces, the dust of the mountains will fly away and the prophet will reach his appointed moment……. The day of judgment will surely come, when the trumpet will sound,

When you all get up and flock to the front and the doors of heaven will open……. On the Day of Judgment all souls will stand before Allah and Muhammad will be their spokesman. Then, the merit and sin of each soul will be accounted for. Jibril will do the work of weighing virtue and sin. Whose virtue is more in the result, he will go to Jannat (heaven). Those whose sins are more, they will fall into Dozakh (Hell).'

Paradise and Dazakh

According to the Qur'an Jannat (heaven) is located on the seventh Arsh (Akash). It has a delightful garden with waterfalls and fountains. Rivers of milk and honey flow. The trunks of the trees are golden and bear delicious fruits. 'Hur-Yul-Aoon' in heaven There are seventy girls of the caste whose eyes are black and big. 'Gilma' to serve the virtuous souls There are handsome boys of the caste. On the contrary, Dozakh is conceived in a very terrifying and formidable form. According to the Qur'an, the pleasures of paradise are only for men, not for women.

Belief in Karmafulism

Islam also believes in the principle of karma. According to the Qur'an, good and bad deeds will definitely get results. Whoever has done even the slightest good deed, he will also see it with his own eyes. After doom, heaven and hell are decided according to the results of the deeds done in this birth. The Qur'an says- 'If you had seen with knowledge, you could have seen Hell here too.' The goal of human life according to the Qur'an 'Lika-Allah' (God meeting). This union can possibly be possible only through good deeds.

Moral Principle

The moral principles of Islam present its human form. Every Muslim is expected to be just, to repay good with good and evil with evil, to show generosity, to help the poor. Matrimonial relations in Islam have the imprint of a patriarchal way of life. Allah has created woman for man. She must be subdued by the man.

Along with this, the human rights of women have also been recognized in the Quran. The unnecessarily cruel treatment of the wife by the husband has also been condemned. Women have the right and mercy to own women's wealth. According to the Quran, all Muslims are equal before Allah. Wealth and poverty are natural things created by Allah Himself. There is a system of giving Zakat in Islam for the subsistence of the poor.

The Quran supports the private property of man. Merchant considers profit to be justified while usury has been condemned- 'Allah has made selling (trader) halal (permissible) and interest (interest) as haram (unlawful).' It is prohibited to make the borrower bonded.

Impact of Jewish Traditions on Muslims

Judaism is older than Islam. Some traditions of the Jews were also adopted by the Muslims. Like Jews, boys are compulsorily circumcised among Muslims. The difference is that Muslims usually circumcise a boy at the age of seven to ten years while Jews, sometime after birth. Not eating pork has also been adopted by the Muslims from the Jews. In both the religions, making idols or pictures of God, humans and animals and worshiping idols is prohibited. Drinking alcohol is prohibited in both the religions.

Shia Sect

The followers of Islam are divided into two sects - Shia and Sunni. 'Shia' Literally means 'Gang' But in the broadest sense, Shia refers to the sect that follows Hazrat Muhammad's son-in-law 'Hazrat Ali' He considers Hazrat Muhammad to be the rightful successor, not the first three caliphs. The flag of Shia sect is black. According to Shia legends, Hazrat Ali and his two sons-Hasan and Imam Hussain, were martyred for the sake of the deen. In the memory of his martyrdom, Shias take out Taziye every year on the tenth day of Muharram.

Sunni sect

'Sunna' Those who believe and count the caliphs from Abu Bakr 'Sunni' Called 'Sunni' 'Sunat' of the word Arabic Derived from the word, which means to imitate the works of Muhammad. In practical terms, Sunni refers to that sect which considers the first three caliphs as the real heirs of Hazrat Muhammad and not Ali, son-in-law of Hazrat Muhammad. The flag of Sunni sect is white.
