What connects Barcelona with the National Star and ancient Phocaea with Catalonia

The association of veteran football players of National Star Kesarianis, honoring the 92 years since the foundation of the club and the 120 years since the foundation of Barcelona, ​​is organizing an event on Thursday, December 5, 2019 (7:00 p.m.) at the town hall of Kesarianis on the subject:

"BARCELONA - FOKIA - EMPORIO - KESARIANI:2,500 years of journeys of culture and friendship".

The honored person and keynote speaker is the Academician, professor of Greek literature and president of the Spanish-Greek Educational Association, Mr. Eusebi Ayensa Prat, who is an ardent fan of Barcelona and a fan of good football.

Mr. Eusebi Ayensa Prat was born in 1967 in the city of Figueres, Catalonia. He holds a degree in classical philology from the University of Barcelona (1989) and a doctorate in Romance philology from the same University (1996). Since 2006, he has been a primary researcher of the Catalan Institute of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Barcelona and in charge of the program entitled:"Historical and literary Catalan-Greek relations 14th - 20th century".

In 2016, he was elected president of the Spanish-Hellenic Educational Association (Associación Cultural Hispano-Helenica) based in Madrid. For more than twenty years he has been teaching ancient and modern Greek in educational institutions in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands and since 2014 he has been directing the Educational Department of the Museum of the city of Empuries (Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya, Empuries), founded in the 7th century BC century the Phocaean settlers on the coast of Catalonia.

The Museum belongs to the competence of the Ministry of Culture and Education of the autonomous Catalan government and the program aimed at students who are taught ancient and modern Greek is entitled:"The speech in the air. Historical and literary itineraries in Empuries" (La paraula en el vent:Itineraris historico literaris a Empuries).
