On such a day, the baseless and delusional statements of the Greek Parliament and the Greek authorities under the guise of the anniversary of May 19, 1919 are not compatible with the historical facts or the values of the 21st century."

The announcement of the Turkish Foreign Ministry ends by urging the Greek side to "accept the hand of friendship" that Turkey is extending.

"Insisting on our calls to resolve the problems in our bilateral relations through dialogue, Greece should, in the hand of friendship we tend to, as in the past, proceed with a correct reading of the change that has occurred in the world."
