The "Most High" Charlemagne

Charlemagne

The Emperor Charlemagne he was very tall.

The results of the examination attest to this with absolute certainty of DNA carried out on his remains, buried for centuries inside the Aachen Cathedral (Germany).

In fact, the test, in addition to ascertaining the paternity of the bones, repeatedly questioned by someone, also allowed a more or less precise measurement of the length of the body, between 180 and 190 centimeters, very much for the reference period.

In the Middle Ages, as is well known, the stature of men and women was considerably reduced compared to today.

The weight of the Emperor exceeded 80 kg. ( Photo: papalepale.it).
