Titus Pullo

Titus Pullo was one of two legionnaires mentioned in Julius Caesar's Commentaries on the Gallic Wars, the other being Lucius Vorenus.

He appears with Vorenus in the Gallic Wars, book 5, chapter 44. This episode describes the two centurions as animated by a certain rivalry. It also relates how Pullo charges at the enemy in the heat of battle. He throws his javelin at an enemy at close range, and is in turn pierced by a spear and surrounded by the Nervians who prevent him from drawing his sword. At this point, Vorenus, who had followed him from their fortifications, joins him in the fray and distracts the enemy's attention by engaging a Nervian in close combat. After killing one and scaring off the rest, Vorenus falls; as the Nervians return to him, Pullo comes to his aid and, after killing a number of their opponents, they return to their positions together, cheered on by their brothers in arms.

This character appears, along with Lucius Vorenus, in the television series Rome.
