8. Day 2 in Florence – 23 May 2019

Couldn't sleep all night. When we left India, we went after voting for the seventeenth Lok Sabha and today their results were to come. So there was restlessness throughout the night. Lok Sabha elections in India have always been very exciting, even though the reason for the excitement is different each time. The elections this time were also with a strange excitement. Narendra Modi's government was elected in the 2014 elections. It was considered a victory not of the Bharatiya Janata Party but of Narendra Modi. The reason was very clear. There were so many scams in the government of Dr. Manmohan Singh, which was in power for the last ten years, and the appeasement of a particular vote-bank called a minority was so much that the people of India were not only fed up with the Congress government but were jealous of it- The roast was sitting. People did not consider it as the government of Dr. Manmohan Singh or of Congress, but of the people of Italy.

Therefore, in 2014, Narendra Modi was seen as the only option for the post of Prime Minister, but the Narendra Modi government had angered the middle class and intelligentsia of India by implementing bitter decisions like demonetisation and GST. That's why the middle class and the intelligentsia were expressing their dissatisfaction out loud, but inside they were also scared to think that in the last five years, Narendra Modi has completely done the common Indian in his favor by abandoning the policies of appeasement. .

At the same time, by giving more sharp vocabulary to his speeches, he has established himself as the unique symbol of nationalism. There is something for every Indian in his speeches. Therefore it is not possible for Narendra Modi to be defeated. Just as in the time of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, people used to choose Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi instead of choosing Congress, similarly the people of India now choose Narendra Modi instead of choosing the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The nexus of middle class and intellectual class has always been there in India. High income group because of their wealth and low income group because of their poverty do not think of changing governments, bringing changes in society and making revolution. The lower income group is used as a tool of revolution started by the middle class and the intelligentsia while the higher income group enjoys the fruits of the success of that revolution.

It was almost the same scene once again in India till the formation of the government of Narendra Modi after defeating Manmohan Singh's government and till the elections to the seventeenth Lok Sabha, but what will be the scene after the elections this time. No one is sure except Narendra Modi. India's middle class and intellectual class are apprehensive that this time India's 'low income group' is not ready to become the tool of revolution being carried out behind the scenes by the middle class and intelligentsia.

The reason for this is that nowadays a so called intellectual class has also emerged in India which keeps abusing Hindutva and nationalism. They don't even care about the dignity of the Prime Minister. Because of this, when these so called intellectuals were abusing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the TV screen, lakhs of farmers and laborers were shouting 'Modi-Modi' in election rallies with joy.

These two classes were not at all eager to listen to each other. This fact has proved that in the era of Narendra Modi, not only the low income group is refusing to become the tool of revolution being planned by the so called intellectuals, but the thinking of the middle class and intelligentsia of India has also taken different directions. Huh. The middle class is afraid of increased taxes and the intelligentsia is afraid of the loss of its shops running in India's universities.

Whereas the upper Aryan class is sure that there is no going to be any travesty on its interests and the lower income group is excited that if the Narendra Modi government comes again this time, then each of them must have a few lakh rupees in their bank account, if not fifteen lakhs. will come. India's middle class is troubled by another big dilemma, lest the Italian government should come back! Better to have a single demonetisation, a single GST and some more increased taxes than his government coming.

The common man of India, who does not know which class he belongs to, and who does not like ideological brainstorming i.e. unnecessary head-busting, his concern is completely different. No matter how many quirks there are in Indian culture, but one thing is certain that the people of India do not like to be abused in public.

Most of the men of India speak filthy and filthy abuses, even some women do not refrain from abusing when given a chance, but in public life they like to speak and listen to clean language.

The common man of India has been stunned by the kind of dirty language that the opposition has used for the prime minister since 2014. No Indian wants his Prime Minister to be publicly abused, to be used without dignity and indecent words.

Whereas the opposition has been abusing the Prime Minister publicly by drinking water for the whole five years under the leadership of the Italians. That's why the common man of India wants to avenge those abuses in these elections. In this common man of India comes the richest of India and the poorest of the poor.

There are some parties in India apart from those in Italy, from sister-in-law from UP to Didi from Calcutta. From Netaji of Etawah to Babuji of Dakshin, there are parts of this pouch. These people have even crossed the limits of abuse, which even the Italians could not dare to cross.

There is hardly any country in the world that wants to hear dirty words like mad dog, killer, low man, thief for its prime minister! There is another small pouch which is stitched with red colored cloth. Nowadays there is not much mint in this bag, yet it also shines on the streets every now and then. So overall this election was filled with a new kind of excitement. Who knows on which side the native camel should sit!

We used to watch election results on TV channels from 6 am to 10 am through internet. By this time it was half past noon in India and the election results were completely clear. Narendra Modi had returned with an even greater majority than before. We could also hear the voices of 'Modi-Modi' coming from India here in Florence.

We left the house at around 10.40. Today we had to go to see the Tower of Pisa. There is a suburban railway station at a distance of about 1 kilometer from the house, but we thought it better to go by tram so that we do not get tired and can walk further if needed. The tram stop is only 100 meters from our service apartment.

This 100 meter journey is very pleasant because the whole surroundings here give immense peace. There is hardly any man visible between this 100 meters. Colorful flowers are smiling all around. The touch of sunshine in the midst of mild cold creates waves of joy in the mind. Today it was not even raining and Lord Surya Narayan was smiling softly sitting on one side of the sky.

He knew that anyway he had to keep playing with the colorful birds flying in the sky of Florence till 8-9 pm. He was probably jealous of Deepa because wherever any bird appeared, Deepa would start feeding him biscuits.
