archaeological essence

The cave art found in handwritten caves is done using a pictograph technique with dark red colours. Some images are faded to a light reddish brown color.

There are 2 types of images that appear:the image of a human hand and a symbolic image made in various designs (Phayao Khemnak 1996 :102-104)

Pictures of hands Only counted 171 images (another number of uncountable images due to overlapping and overlapping). The authors indicated that these hand images were sufficient to recognize three hand images (). 1) Portrait of an adult as big as an adult man's hand with a picture that is as small as a woman's hand or a young person (2) a picture of a child's hand Both left and right hands ( 3) Unable to distinguish side and size Because it's very erasable

There are two methods of hand painting techniques:

1. Use hand paint and place it on the wall, called Handing There are 165 images of hands made by this method:

- Picture of a child's hand, left 3 images, right 4 images

- Picture of adult hands, left 22 images, right 60 images

- 76 images and sides cannot be distinguished.

2. Take the paint to paint the hand and scrape some of the paint from the palm and apply it, called artificial handprint There are 6 images in this method:

- Portrait of an adult Found only the right 5 images

- Unable to distinguish size and side for 1 image.

It is worth noting that there is no picture of a child's hand like an artificial hand. And the picture of the child's hand was found at the foot of the wall that he could stand to make his own picture. The image that is high or the image on the ceiling cannot be found.

Pictures It is a line drawing that resembles various types of marks, with 1 grid figure written next to the hand image, using lines 1-4 centimeters thick, and line drawings similar to the picture of a potty-mouthed horn, using a line 4-5 centimeters thick, with 3 hands contained within. with solid line art

Both types of images are both sharp and volatile on the same wall. There is an overlap It is a reference to the time of writing different images, different karma, different agendas.

The source of paintings of Tham Seng Meng and Tham Handwriting are both located in Tambon Nong Hang. Kuchinarai District Located on the same hill, 4 kilometers apart, the painter chose the cliff on the west side of the hill. which has a flat area and the archaeological site at Non Ban Hang Pla Fa and Ban Nong Hang as well The study author assumed that the authors of the images were probably the same group (Phayao Khemnak 1996 :105).
