Old town houses show traces of people's use of space since the late prehistoric times onwards. Most of the artifacts found in the old town were kept at Wat Phairi Phinat or Wat Klang Kao. Including some artifacts found inside the temple

The old town house is located on the east side of the present city of Chaiyaphum. Prang Ku archaeological site is also located in this community.

The artifacts found inside the temple include a large sandstone parapet. It is found in the area on the north side of the temple. At present, a well has been built around the parapet and a building is covered as a sacred pond (built in 2007). From asking villagers in the area, they obtained information about the history of the discovery of this parapet. In the past few years, temples have been renovated and excavated backhoes have been used to construct roads. The construction made it possible to find the parapet in its current location. The abbot had an idea to bring it up. The staff then used a backhoe to dig up. But the parapet is large and deeply embedded. Therefore, the rope was attached to the parapet and used the backhoe to pull it up. break the sema leaf That night, the abbot had a dream that someone would come to kill him because he broke the parapet. The next day, the staff had to rebuild the parapet back to its original state by using a hole punch on the parapet and then using a hundred rebar to connect the two parapets together. And still pinned in the same position, then dug the surrounding area into a sacred well and built a cover building.

In addition, inside the temple hall, there is also a sarcophagus containing ancient human skeletons. This skeleton was found on July 20, 2013 in the people's houses of the old town community. Villagers unearthed it while building a fence. So the owner of the house brought up all the bones together with the earthenware pottery found together. After that, the temple will burn the said skeleton.

Considering the ancient artifacts It was initially assumed to be a late prehistoric human skeleton.

Therefore, from the archaeological evidence within the temple, it is assumed that The old town community has been settled since the late prehistoric period. Continuing through the Dvaravati and Khmer periods
