General Condition

Wat Ban Tamyae is a temple that is still in use today. It is located in the northern part of Ubon Ratchathani Province. in the area under the responsibility of the Rai Noi Subdistrict Administrative Organization The condition of the area is a shallow undulating plain. Wat Ban Tamyae is now a Rat Temple. Affiliated with Maha Nikaya There is no clear evidence of the establishment of the temple. but from Thai Noi characters Isan language mixed with Pali written on the outer wall above the entrance of Sim says This building was completed in 1874 by Yakuta, Somdej Chada, Bhiksu, Saranen and Upasaka. Wisung Kham Sima was bestowed upon him in 1990.

Important archaeological sites of Wat Ban Tam Yae include Sim, the general characteristics of the Sim is a small, solid building, made of bricks and mortar, with a rectangular plan of 3 rooms facing east. In front there is a porch that is surrounded by a backyard. Except in the middle of the front staff that leave a hole for a ladder, which is the only way up and down of this house. There are 2 pillars in front to support the roof. It looks like a round wooden pole.

The base of the base is the base of the Khan or Bua Ngon in the Lan Chang style. But the appearance is not as delicate as Lan Xang art. Therefore, it is assumed that it is a local form. The bottom base is a chopping board base stacked in 3 layers, next up is the base of the cornice. Wooden belly with glass beads Next up is a lotus facing upside down lotus (no wood) and ends with a line supporting the wall. Characteristics of all lotus wire ends are flickered at the ends.

On both sides of the wall, there is a hole punched on each side of the window, and the back wall is solid. The front wall has approximately one entrance in the middle. All the windows and doors are wooden, unpatterned, but are carved with floral motifs (upper, middle and lower).

The front wall above the door frame (outside) shows the writing of Thai Noi characters. From the study of past experts, it has been found that it is a reference to the creator and the year of creation of the main Buddha image of the temple and the creation of the sim (Phanthipha Suwannee 2013 :41-48).

Sim roof is a single gable roof. The end of the gable has a slightly curved shape, similar to Laos art. covered with terracotta tiles fish scale tile (Originally covered with scales)

Pan Lom is a straight wooden plank that extends along the gable roof, known as the rich (representing the influence of Laotian art) and decorated with rooster leaves. (Central influence)

Ngo is a carved wood. There is a pattern like Cho Fah in the central Thai architecture. but has a more flickering curve at the end The kandok or swan's tail is found on the side of the stairs, 3 pieces of wood carved in the shape of a serpent.

face or gable It looks like a wooden gable. which is the same pattern as the local Isan pattern

lady arm or wand Decorate the walls, 5 on each side, is a wooden wand carved in the form of a winged serpent. Curling back and forth The head of the serpent is below. The tail on the top is carved in Kanok pattern. Along the body of the serpent, the fins are carved along the body. There are sockets below (Phanthipha Suwannee 2013 :41-48)

There is no Chukchi base within this Sim. There were no paintings on both the inside and outside walls. Except for writing the letters on the outer wall in front of Sim as mentioned above.
