How did Arcadia get its name?

Arcadia, as a name, has its roots in ancient Greece. The name "Arcadia" comes from the Greek word Ἀρκαδία (Arkadía), which was the name of a region in the central Peloponnese peninsula of Greece, known for its rural and idyllic landscapes. Arcadia was considered to be a land of simplicity, peace, and natural beauty. The name Arcadia has been used to describe such an ideal and idyllic place ever since.
