What materials did the Huron use to make their houses?

Materials Used for Construction

- Frames: The Huron used poles of about 15 cm in diameter to construct the frames of their houses. Poles were cut down using stone axes. Poles were joined together using rawhide cords.

- Roofs: The roofs were made of sections of bark with at least one layer of birch bark for waterproofing. Sometimes, grass was also used.

- Walls: The walls were constructed using sections of bark tied together with rawhide cord. Birch bark was also used for waterproofing.
