The US Constitution differed from the Articles of Confederation in several ways, one of which was the creation of a much stronger federal government. The Articles of Confederation had created a very weak federal government, with little power over the states. The Constitution, on the other hand, gave the federal government more power, including the ability to tax, regulate interstate commerce, and raise an army. This allowed the federal government to be more effective in governing the country and protecting the interests of its citizens.
