Historical story

sambaqui

Sambaquis are deposits of organic and limestone materials made over the period by men who once lived in their vicinity. They are made up of shells, ceramic objects, wood, stone, human skeletons, remains of animal bones, traces of a bonfire and others.

They are found in almost the entire Brazilian coast and discovered in the 70s, with variable sizes and shapes.
The oldest known sambaquis are dated to 5,500 years ago and are approximately 20 meters high and 100 meters in diameter. The sambaquis peoples, as they were called, lived on the Brazilian coast, in the United States, in Peru, in Chile and in the Andes.

They were people of short stature and worn teeth. They lived in nomadic colonies of a maximum of a hundred inhabitants. They lived from the collection of natural resources and even from agriculture, where they burned a place for cultivation and after the soil was exhausted they moved to another location.
