Hitler's Groupies

A gigantic hall filled to the brim. The lectern was raised, and in the background a huge banner with a swastika. The crowd is undulating, Adolf Hitler is gesturing lively speaking with passion, and somewhere between the brown uniforms sparkle with hundreds of adored female eyes. Yes, it is they ... who adore him, sometimes even idolatrous love. Hitler's Groupies!

In retrospect, it's hard to imagine Hitler as the idol of women. And yet, the Reich Chancellor must have had "this something", according to German women of that time. They considered him to be a combination of the superman, the father of the nation, and ... the wild beast. A word for the essence of masculinity in one person! It's hard to believe how many women have fallen victim to his charm.

Due to the number of correspondent admirers staring at their beloved leader and sending him thousands of letters, the Chancellery of the Third Reich had to create a separate division and delegate a number of employees to it. This is how a special archive for "female doodles" was created, to which tens of thousands went more or less personal parcels from female admirers.

Young Nazis behaving at the sight of Hitler, like American teenagers at the sight of Bieber.

Before I quote a few interesting fragments of this correspondence after Diane Ducret - the author of the book "Women of Dictators", I must point out two things. First, none of the cited women had ever personally met Hitler or even exchanged a word with him (they all knew him only from rallies, radio speeches, newspapers and "Mein Kampf", possibly seeing him somewhere, sometime, from a distance). Secondly, among the devoted followers of the Führer we find the entire age and class range, from young girls to old ladies, from hens to aristocrats.

Nazis write letters

A letter from a certain Friedel S. who leaves no doubt as to her intentions (1935):

A woman from Saxony would love to have a child with you . Obviously, this is quite an unusual desire […].

I thirst and tremble at the same time. This letter may not reach you. Maybe you don't have time to have a baby. Perhaps you feel too old to have a child, and have long since abandoned this, in his opinion, unrealistic thought. After all, you should give birth to a new life. It is my greatest dream and I strive to fulfill it with all my heart.

Hot letter from Baroness von Kilvein, then residing in Egypt (1938):

However, everything changed when I realized that my restoration is you, Mr. Hitler. ... Mr. . […]

Hitler literally could not get rid of admirers. Even on the road, he could expect expressions of adoration.

A letter from a house hen from Berlin, apart from a complaint about an excess of washing, mending or bad weather, contains an image of adoration (1939):

[…] I keep going through your photos and putting them in front of me before kissing them . Yes, my beloved, my dearest, my good Adolfie, love is sincere as gold […]. Besides, my dear, now I hope you received my cake packet and that you will like it too . Everything I am sending You is pure love.

A certain Ritschi didn't care about protocol and good manners and wrote to Hitler very directly. I will quote this one short letter in its entirety. The fact that she never exchanged a word with the Führer was not a problem for her (1941):

Dear Adi!

You will probably miss me a little. I would like to send you a photo as a symbol of my love. So I am attaching my tiny photo. It reminds me of Madonna in the sky . I am very sad sometimes. On July 23, I am going to my home country. You must have been to Karlsbad before ... There I will think of you even more often.

Hot kisses for you, my you wild beast.

The woman who signed her letter as Your girl Jose she was even slightly delusional and addressed the chancellor as if she were her lover ... literally (1941).

Do you think a lot about your Jose? Really? Really? Keep me, my faithful love, I remain faithful and good to You forever, do not worry about me. […] But let us enjoy the war. Okay? Okay? My dear. Thank you also for your love, for your faithfulness for all that is beautiful. You are so cute and so good to me. [...] She told you everything, let me press you tightly to my heart, and accept the most sincere and heartfelt greetings, my faithful lover Adolf Hitler .

Again Hitler surrounded by a wreath of women. This time also Goebbels took the opportunity.

Finally, a letter from Mrs. Rosa M., an unhappy married woman whose herd died when she fell in love with Adolf Hitlrea, and who finally decided to confess her feelings to him (1944):

My husband has become a stranger to me only because I have someone Better in my heart . […] I feel so much for you, the love between the two of us is already firmly established. Every day I understand so many things thanks to you that I understand every sign. I only want to be yours . […]

This is just a small sample of the possibilities of crazy fans of the Chancellor of the Third Reich. According to Diane Ducret, Hitler has received more letters from female fans than the rock dinosaur Mick Jagger and all the Beatles combined !

On the one hand, the leader of the National Socialists, aloof in contacts with the opposite sex, became furious at the sound of these sometimes very fiery, even indecent, confessions. On the other hand, he had summaries prepared and treated them as… an excellent barometer of public sentiment.
