Instead of attending a traditional school, Cabot likely learned from practical experiences and apprenticeships. He may have worked as a merchant or sailor from an early age, gaining hands-on knowledge of navigation, trade, and the maritime world. He also likely studied maps, charts, and accounts of previous explorations, which would have contributed to his understanding of geography and exploration.
Cabot's knowledge and skills eventually led him to become a renowned explorer and navigator. In 1497, he set sail from Bristol, England, on a mission to find a new route to Asia. Although he did not reach Asia, he did make landfall in what is now North America, becoming one of the first Europeans to do so. His exploration paved the way for further voyages and eventually led to the establishment of European colonies in the Americas.
