Mesolithic:Did Our Ancestors Have Blue Eyes?

Mesolithic Man (from lastampa.it)

The news is one that arouses some surprise:unlike what has always been assumed, it seems that our ancestors had, at least some, clear eyes.

The discovery is due to researchers from the Barcelona Institute of Evolutionary Biology, who carried out the DNA test on two Mesolithic hunter skeletons (About 7 thousand years ago) found in La Brana-Arintero (Spain).

It therefore seems that the men who lived in Europe before the affirmation of the great civilizations, mostly devoted to hunting and agriculture, had common characteristics with the Nordics, even if the skin and hair were certainly dark.

Another peculiarity revealed by the DNA examination concerns their digestive abilities :they were lactose intolerant and did not tolerate starches. (Photo:lastampa.it)
