Oliver V of Clisson (1336 - 1407)

Olivier de Clisson is a relatively unknown great lord, who remains an important figure in the Hundred Years War. Of Breton origin, he participated in the War of Succession of Brittany, and won the victory of Auray over the troops of the King of France. Subsequently, he broke with his overlord Duke of Brittany, an ally of the English, and made an alliance with Bertrand du Guesclin with whom he went on a campaign. A great soldier, his cruelty in combat gave him the nickname "Le Bouché". Become constable of France under Charles VI, he is part of the "Marmousets" recalled to the government. For a time, he led the project to invade England with the help of a large fleet and a huge wooden raft.
