Louis of Orleans (1372 - 1407)

Son of King Charles V of France, and younger brother of Charles VI. Louis disputes the kingdom with the Dukes of Burgundy, his uncle Philippe le Hardi, then his cousin Jean Sans Peur. On the order of this last Louis was assassinated provoking the civil war between Armagnacs and Burgundians. Louis is at the origin of the Valois-Orléans dynasty, he is the father of Charles d'Orléans and the grandfather of King Louis XII. He also had an illustrious illegitimate child:Jean, Bastard of Orleans. It is believed that Charles was also the lover of Queen Isabeau of Bavaria.
