Nike

Nike

In Greek mythology, Niké (in ancient Greek Νίκη / Níkê) is a goddess personifying Triumph and Victory as her name suggests. Daughter of the Titan Pallas and Styx, she is the sister of Cratos (the Power), Bia (the Force) and Zelos (the Ardor), with whom she is one of the relatives of Zeus. (The Homeric Hymn to Ares, however, makes it arise from the god himself.)

She is depicted as a winged deity, capable of moving at high speed. A famous sculpture of Athena Nike, the Victory of Samothrace, is kept in the Louvre Museum.
