Gaetulia | Region, North Africa

Gaetulia , an old neighborhood inside North Africa , inhabited by wandering tribes at least in Roman times Gaetuli . The not clearly defined area included the southern slopes of the Atlas Mountains from the Aurès massif west to the Atlantic; to the south it extended to the oases in the northern part of the Sahara . Different from the peoples of the south, the Gaetuli were among the Berber-speaking peoples who made up the population of Numidia formed . These peoples were known for their horse breeding; They dressed in skins and lived on meat and milk. The only manufacture associated with their name was that of the purple dye. The modern nomadic peoples of the region are likely descended from the Gaetuli.
