The information plaque of the Fine Arts Department installed inside the temple indicates that the temple was built from the late Ayutthaya period, around 1732, during the reign of King Boromkot, while the word "Cholor" comes from the former Bang Kruai canal and canal. The temple's information tells about the history of the temple's construction. His Majesty the King had traveled along Chollamarakom along the Chao Phraya River. During the construction there were many obstacles. So he took the risk of praying to the goddess and having a vision that An old Chinese man said, had to build a church in the shape of a junk for solving problems Therefore, he built a church in the shape of a junk boat. His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej bestowed the name of the temple as “Wat Chalor”. Recently, a monk came to live in the reign of King Rama 3 or King Rama IV.

Another legend states that it dates back to the early Ayutthaya period and is related to the nearby Wat Krajomthong. By King Ramathibodi I (King U Thong) came to perform royal merit at Wat Chalor. The soldiers and hosts came to rest and wait for the King. When the royal barge arrived, a tent was erected, pierced with gold pillars in the pillars that were seated in the area of ​​the present Krajomthong Temple. Which at that time was a wide field of about 50 rai, about 700 meters east of Wat Chalor, still not a temple. Later, in the reign of King Maha Chakraborty, he ordered to dig a canal from the mouth of Bang Thong Canal through Wat Chalor. Go to Wat Khema Phirataram (Wat Salak) because the original path is winding for a long distance. The aforementioned canal is now Bang Kruai Canal

Ubosot It is located in the western area of ​​the temple. almost next to the Bangkok Noi Canal facing east (slightly obliquely to the south) is a rectangular building, 9.15 meters wide, 19.7 meters long, surrounded by a glass wall.

In front of the chapel, there is a hall building in the front porch. The ceiling is painted red. gold star ceiling decoration There are stairs leading up and the entrance to the building, Hall 2 on the left-right side. The chapel has 1 front entrance door in the middle (inside from the hall building), 2 back doors, gable above the doorway decorated with stucco designs with flora designs. There are two windows on each side. The door and window are wooden. painted in red

The roof layer consists of Cho Fa. Rooster leaves and swan's tail (Chorfa and swan's tail is a naga that looks like a bird's mouth. (also known as bird Jao), the gable of the Ubosot in front, behind and the gable of the front hall building They are decorated with stucco-patterned stucco in the form of vases and flora. The base of the chapel has a curved shape called "Boat shape", surrounded by arches in the shape of a boat in 8 directions. The parapet is made of red sandstone. The parapet in the middle of the front is inside the hall building.

Inside is enshrined a Buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara as the chairman of the Chukchi base at the end of the chapel. According to the information of the temple, it is a red sandstone Buddha image. (Golden lacquer?) Lap size 3 cubits 9 inches, no painting on the wall. The ceiling is painted red and decorated with gold ceiling stars.

It can be assumed from the architectural style that this chapel was probably built in the late Ayutthaya period. and there were additional restorations in the early Rattanakosin period After that, there will be ongoing renovations. The last time was conducted by the Fine Arts Office 2, Suphanburi, 2013-2014. It is a restoration according to the original style.

On the southeast side of the temple, there is a brick wall on the top that looks like a parapet. It is assumed that it is part of the old temple wall.
