archaeological essence

Archaeological Site No. 9, Mueang Sema, with a rectangular plan, size 4.10 x 8.10 meters, damaged condition, leaving only the base, approximately 0.70 meters high, with an entrance-exit on the south side. It is assumed that it was built around the 12th-15th century.

Construction Techniques It was built of large bricks with rice husks mixed with it. It is a brick used in Dvaravati culture. Construction piled up without mortar and then plastered off the wall. It forms a rectangular building wall approximately 0.70 meters thick, encompassing a sand filled core and small purple stones.

It is assumed that ancient monument number 9, Muang Sema, is probably a vihara-type religious place. The layout is similar to the remains of a viharn at Khu Bua City. Ratchaburi Province (Somsak Rattanakul 1992 :46-51)
