Palmyra liberated again

The ancient city would have just been completely taken over from the hands of the armed group Islamic State by the Syrian army this Thursday, March 2, 2017 according to the daily Le Monde , citing an announcement from Russian news agency RIA. Listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Palmyra was conquered in May 2015 by jihadists, then taken over by the Syrian regime in March 2016, before falling again into the hands of IS militants in December 2016 Many monuments have been destroyed there by members of the terrorist organization, such as the tetrapyle recently, and terrible crimes committed.
