Did the Maya roll giant limestone blocks over a log or balls?

The ancient Mayans used ramps and sledges to move large limestone blocks for the construction of their temples, pyramids, and other monumental buildings. They didn't roll the blocks but rather dragged them slowly and strategically from quarries to the construction sites. Workers cleared paths, filled depressions, and built raised roads made of dirt, wooden tracks, or limestone to smooth the transportation route.
