Which early Native American society built cliff dwellings and which mounds?

The Ancestral Puebloans, also known as the Anasazi, built cliff dwellings in the southwestern United States, particularly in the Mesa Verde region of Colorado and the Canyonlands region of Utah. The Mississippian culture, which flourished in the eastern United States, built mounds, including the famous Cahokia Mounds in Illinois.
