Matthew Flinders collected many natural history specimens and artefacts during his voyages. These included plants, animals, minerals, and cultural artefacts from Indigenous peoples. Many of these specimens were sent back to England and are now held in the Natural History Museum in London. Some of Flinders' artefacts are also held in the South Australian Museum in Adelaide.
