Elbee Maurice Gigost d(1752 - 1794)

A former cavalry officer, he sat with the Tiers in 1789. He was initially favorable to the Revolution but the civil constitution of the clergy shocked him and dragged him into the Vendée insurrection. He fought alongside Cathelineau, to whom he succeeded as general of the Catholic and royal army. Brave in battle, he shows his military experience and wisdom to the fiery young generals. With Bonchamp and Charette, he is in Torfou to beat Kléber. Wounded at the Battle of Cholet, he was captured and shot by the Republicans.
