Geological conditions

Geological conditions in the Chiang Mai Basin are very diverse, from complex igneous rocks, volcanic rocks, metamorphic rocks and sedimentary rocks of various ages over 600 million years, to the unsolved sandstone sediments on the central plains of the Recent Basin that are approximately 10,000-20,000 years ago, which included most of the plains that were now farms and dwellings (Saraswati Ongsakul 2000 :2-3)

archaeological essence

The name of Wat Chedi Kut is not known as Wat Chedi Kut. in the chronicle of legend but from the survey Archaeological excavations and excavations can be determined that Wat Chedi Kut (abandoned) and ancient sites within the excavated area are Buddhist temples of the Chiang Mai community living in the southwest of Chiang Mai. From around the 20th Buddhist century, it may have been built during the period when Phra Sumon Thera came to spread Buddhism in Chiang Mai around 1915 because the head of the Buddha image was excavated in Lanna art that was influenced by Sukhothai style.

For ancient sites and important buildings, the main chedi is a castle in the shape of a square. The bottom layer is the cutting board base. The top of the elemental house is in a square plan. There appears to be traces of 3 arches on each side, presumably enshrining a Buddha image. There are obvious traces of stucco. But no traces of decorative stucco were found. Above the elemental house, up to collapse But on some sides there are still traces of 2-3 layers of octagonal chopping board bases stacked together to support the next part of the chedi which is in the circle plan (Prose Kaew family and Soratach Rojanarat 2013 :133-134)

In addition, from the illegal excavation of antiques, it is evident that the brickwork of the main chedi is covered with plaster of another chedi, which is covered inside. Assumed to have architectural features that are comparable to the main chedi of Wat Buppharam (Suan Dok)

When compared with the chedi in Chiang Mai, it was found that it was similar in appearance to the Wat Rom Pho Chedi (deserted), which was similar in terms of the placement of the base to support the relics. And close to the chedi of Wat Pa Daeng (abandoned) is the making of the arch chant in the elemental housing. Decorated arches arranged in a square plan without lifting the gauge (Family Prose and Soratach Rojanarat 2013 :123-130)
