There are many different perspectives on whether Japan deserved to be bombed during the America-Japan war. Some argue that after so many years of terrorising the people and nations of the Asia Pacific region, the war and the bombings ended the war quickly, thus saving countless lives overall, and in that sense deserved it. Others argue that such brutal bombings of civilians would never be justified, no matter the circumstances, and that there were other ways to achieve the same goal. Many Japanese citizens who survived the bombings have never forgiven the US for their actions.
