Who started the un?

The United Nations (UN) was established on 24 October 1945 after the end of World War II to prevent another such conflict. The UN was created as a replacement for the ineffective League of Nations, which had been created after World War I. The UN was founded by 51 countries and has since grown to include 193 member states. The UN has its headquarters in New York City, United States.
