What started Humanism?

Humanism originated as a European intellectual movement during the Renaissance, beginning in Italy in the 14th century and later spreading across the rest of Europe. The term "humanism" was first used in the 19th century to describe this intellectual movement, which was characterized by a renewed interest in classical Greek and Roman literature, art, and philosophy, as well as a focus on the human condition. Humanists emphasized the potential for human beings to improve themselves through education and moral cultivation. Key ideas associated with Humanism include individualism, secularism, and a focus on the intrinsic dignity and worth of each person.
