How would Socrates have ended trash TV?

There is no self-respecting commercial TV channel that does not have on its grill some program based on hoaxes, rumors, falsehoods... the so-called, very wisely, trash TV . We already told at the time what would have happened in the 16th century to the – in this case the – condemned for insults or slander, but since I do not like to be so cruel, we will use the classical philosopher Socrates to find out how he would have stopped this epidemic.

Socrates

On one occasion, an acquaintance of Socrates approached him and said:

Teacher, do you know what I've been told about Fulano? (it could also have been from Mengano or Zutano)

Socrates raised his hand to stop him talking and warned him:

Before you tell me what it's about, let me do the test of the three questions . His friend accepted.

1st Are you sure that what you are going to tell me is true? No, they just told me.
That is, you don't know if it's true or not.
2nd What you're going to tell me about So-and-so, is it good? No.
You want to tell me something bad about So-and-so even if you're not sure if it's true, is that right? The embarrassed man nodded.
3rd What you are going to tell me about So-and-so, will it be useful for someone? No, not really…
You want to tell me something that you're not sure is true, that's not good or even helpful, so why talk about it? Get out of here with your lies and hoaxes .

If before participating in this type of program they would consider the test of the three questions of Socrates and, in addition, they would be consistent and sincere with their answers... these miseries would end. Socrates forgot a small detail... the dough they are paid that buys wills and consciences .
