When Kolokotronis ordered underpants... from Argos!

The Revolution of 1821 was made by humble fighters and by some leading personalities, who were able to inspire the people and guide them properly, so that they all reach the desired result. The liberation of Greece from the Ottoman dynasty, after 400 years.

This great military undertaking was carried out without intense material preparation, without sufficient armament, without a sufficient number of ammunition, without logistics. But there was hope, faith in the fight, self-sacrifice and incomparable combativeness.

Such was the lack of goods, even humble items, that an incident with the... underpants of Kolokotronis, the undisputed military leader of the Revolution, went down in history!

Many of the fighters "didn't know what underpants were, they avoided them because their dress covered them so well". However, the question continues to this day and we have seen female tourists brazenly trying to lift up the skirt of the ladies to see what is hidden underneath!
