What was the result of Treaty Ghent?

The Treaty of Ghent was signed on December 24, 1814, between the United States and Great Britain to end the War of 1812. The treaty restored the pre-war boundaries between the United States and British North America (Canada). The treaty also provided for the release of prisoners of war and the establishment of a commission to resolve boundary disputes between the two countries.
