History of Europe

What age were children taught about nazism?

In Germany, students begin learning about National Socialism and the Holocaust in grade 7, when they are around 13 or 14 years old. The lessons usually cover the historical background of the Nazi regime, its ideology and propaganda, the persecution and extermination of Jews, and the role of ordinary people in the Holocaust. The aim of these lessons is to help students understand the causes and consequences of the Holocaust, and to promote critical thinking and empathy.
