What was the British reaction of Boston tea party?

Coercive Acts passed

As a result of the Boston Tea Party, the British Parliament reacted by passing the Coercive Acts, a series of punitive laws designed to punish the colonists and prevent future acts of defiance. The Coercive Acts included:

- The Boston Port Act, which closed the port of Boston until the stolen tea was paid for.

- The Massachusetts Government Act, which revoked the colony's charter and restricted its self-government.

- The Administration of Justice Act, which allowed British officials to be tried in Britain rather than in the colonies.

- The Quartering Act, which allowed British soldiers to be housed in private homes.

The Coercive Acts angered the colonists and led to a further escalation of tensions between Britain and its American colonies.
