Where was the largest fight between Catholics and Protestants in Ireland?

The Battle of the Boyne, fought on 1 July 1690 (11 July in the Gregorian Calendar), was the decisive conflict in the Williamite War in Ireland. The Jacobite forces of King James II were defeated by the army of William of Orange, resulting in the completion of the Glorious Revolution. The main battle was fought at the River Boyne, about 2 miles (3 km) west of the town of Drogheda, County Louth, although skirmishes also occurred on the south side of the river near Slane.
