How did the Luger handgun help German soldiers in World War 2?

While the Luger pistol was used by various units of the German military in World War I and early II, in reality, it saw a limited presence among soldiers and officers during active service. Only specific branches utilized it, and it was progressively phased out. The P.38 pistol eventually displaced the Luger pistol.

It's essential to emphasize the widespread utilization of the Mauser-based military C96 "Broomhandle" handgun and the Walther P38 pistol over the Luger as standard-issue pistols in World War II. German soldiers carried other handguns based on specific requirements and individual inclinations in addition to these more frequently used variants.
