History of Europe

Where did Rome get religion?

The Romans adopted many gods and religious practices from the Greeks, as well as from the Etruscans. The Roman pantheon included gods such as Jupiter, Juno, Mars, Venus, Neptune, and many others. The Romans also incorporated religious beliefs and practices from many other conquered peoples, such as the Celts, Gauls, and Egyptians. Over time, religious customs from all over the Roman Empire were accepted in Roman society.
