What caused the Hindenburg to fly from Germany America?

The Hindenburg disaster did not cause the airship to fly from Germany to America. The Hindenburg flew regularly between Germany and the United States from 1936 to 1937 as a luxury passenger airship. The disaster, which occurred on May 6, 1937, happened while the Hindenburg was attempting to dock with its mooring mast at the Lakehurst Naval Air Station in New Jersey, causing the airship to catch fire and crash, ultimately ending the era of regular commercial transatlantic airship travel.
