* Recognition of American Independence: Great Britain recognized the independence of the United States of America.

* Boundaries: The boundaries of the United States were defined as follows:

* On the north, the border with British North America was set along the 49th parallel from the Atlantic Ocean to the Lake of the Woods.

* On the west, the border with Great Britain was set along the Mississippi River from its source to 31 degrees north latitude, then due east to the Apalachicola River, then south to the Gulf of Mexico.

* On the south, the border with Spain was set along the 31st parallel from the Apalachicola River to the Mississippi River.

* Fishing Rights: American fishermen were granted the right to fish off the coast of Newfoundland and in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

* Payment of Debts: The United States agreed to pay all debts owed to British subjects before the war.

* Recovery of Property: Americans who had property confiscated by the British during the war were allowed to recover it.
