History of Europe

Why was the meeting of first Continental congress in 1744 an important day?

The First Continental Congress was not held in 1744. It was held in Philadelphia from September 5 to October 26, 1774. It was an important day because it marked the first time the thirteen American colonies came together to discuss their common grievances with Great Britain and to take action to address them. The Congress adopted a number of resolutions, including the Declaration of Rights and Grievances, which outlined the colonists' complaints against the British government, and the Continental Association, which called for a boycott of British goods. These actions helped to lay the foundation for the American Revolution.
