History of Europe

Was communism to blame for the end of WW1?

Communism was not a factor in the start or end of World War I. The war began in 1914, primarily due to rising tensions and unresolved conflicts among European powers, including nationalism, militarism, and imperial rivalry.

Communism, as an ideology and political system, gained prominence after the Russian Revolution of 1917, which occurred during the war. However, its influence and impact on global politics developed in the years following World War I, particularly during the interwar period and afterward.
