What event was considered to be the spark of french revolution?

Storming of the Bastille

On July 14, 1789, a Parisian revolutionary crowd captured the Bastille (a medieval fortress and armory used as a royal prison), which, although not very significant as a prison at the time, became the symbolic act for the overthrow of royal tyranny and oppression and remains the pivotal date to which all events of the Revolution relate.
